Yazeed Alrajhi won the FIA World Cup and Portuguese João Ferreira the European Cup

Two-time world champion Yazeed Alrajhi and Michael Orr in an Overdrive Team Toyota Hilux won Baja Italia, the third race to score points together in the European Baja Cup, and in the Baja World Cup, FIA championships in which Baja Portalegre participates. 500, which in October the ACP will take to the slopes of Alentejo.

“We got an excellent victory in the Baja European Championship race! For winning second place overall, as a result of the excellent navigation work of David Monteiro and the excellent assistance of ARC Sport, who gave us a fantastic car throughout Reasons to be very happy, these are very important points for the Copa de Europe, naturally I am very happy with this result”, declared João Ferreira.


Pole Michal Maluszynski, leader of the competition, finished third overall, second in the European standings.

The other national duo with legitimate aspirations to victory, runners-up in the European Cup before the Pordenone match, was made up of Pedro Dias da Silva and Victor Jesus in a VW Amarok, but after a promising start, fourth in SS1, when riding third overall during SS2.

“A contact with a tree after a rebound in a narrow area caused the lower triangle and the transmission to break, forcing us to stop 1 km from the finish,” commented the navigator Víctor Jesús.

In SSV, Brazilian duo Cristiano Batista/Wladimir Grunenberg (BRP Can-Am Maverick XRS) won T4 to take third place overall, beating Amerigo Ventura/Mirko Brun (Yamaha YXZ 1000R) by about five minutes. Kees Koolen/Paolo Ceci (BRP Can-Am Maverick XRS) were third a further 45 seconds back.

For the celebration of the FIA European Cup in Bajas, the competitions in Hungary, at the beginning of August, and Baja Poland, at the beginning of September, are missing. While the World Cup ends in Dubai in the first days of December.
